Select a Suitable Location: Choose a location for the PT100 temperature probe that accurately represents the temperature of the asset you want to measure. Ensure that the location is accessible for maintenance and calibration purposes. Please avoid any contact from the Probe Metal Part with any part from the equipment that can cause movement or components that generate heat or cold.
The Pt100 Probe should not be bent or dropped.
The cable must not be kinked.
The Seal Pot may not be submerged permanently in water or
steam. Only the Sheath is allowed to be submerged in water
Equipment Access Hole for external probes: If the equipment is closed or watertight (e.g. Freezers, Ultrafreezers, Cryopreservation tanks) make sure there is an access hole to insert the probe. The metal part of the probe is 6mm in diameter and 150mm long and cannot be bent. Alternatively, the connector can be inserted (from the inside out) through the access hole (connector diameter: 12mm).
An alternative to the access hole, in the case of refrigeration equipment, is to use the drainage hole that exists to collect the water that condenses inside (a hole that typically exists at the bottom of the equipment, below the heat exchanger).
If the access hole has fittings that require 90 degree bends, please contact the ViGIE Team to find an identical solution using 4-wire PT100 probes where it is only necessary to insert a cable through the access hole.
Mounting the Probe: Depending on the application, you may need to mount the PT100 probe using a threaded fitting, compression fitting, metal bracket or zip ties.
Secure the Probe: Once properly positioned, secure the PT100 probe in place using appropriate fixtures or fasteners. Make sure the probe is firmly attached to prevent movement or impacts from the load/unload process of the assets stored inside the equipment that could affect accuracy.
Connect Wiring: Connect the wiring of the PT100 probe to the AiroSensor X ER (202043). Ensure that connections are tight and secure to prevent data loss. Please use the Con-Clip provided.
Testing: After installation perform testing to verify that the PT100 probe is functioning correctly. Login ViGIE Web Portal and find your sensor data.
By following these installation guidelines, you can ensure the proper installation and operation of your PT100 temperature probe for accurate temperature measurement in your application.
