AccessPoint Indoor (200110) Installation Guide

Equipments Needed:

Indoor AccessPoint 200110

Power Supply + Power Cable (included)

RJ45 Network Cable (included) (Active PoE is available by request)

Find the right location to install your Access Point, keeping the following notes in mind. The AccessPoint uses radio signals to wirelessly communicate with the Sensors. To get the best possible reception:

  • Confirm if the infrastructure requirements are met (RJ45 Network Port + Power Socket).
  • Confirm next to the IT department if the Network and Firewall requirements mentioned below are met.
  • Place the AccessPoint as close as possible to the location of the loggers.
  • If the area that needs to be covered is large, place multiple AccessPoints at different locations in the building/at the site.
  • Mount the AccessPoint in a vertical position. There is a keyhole on the back which can be used to hinge the AccessPoint on a screw.
  • The AccessPoint can be glued to the surface using double-sided tape.
  • If the location allows it, hang the Access Point in free air suspended by its cables.
  • Do not mount the Access Point close to or on a metal surface or near equipment or cables with magnetic fields.
  • Try to avoid mounting the AccessPoint on concrete walls.
  • Try to avoid concrete walls or floors between the AccessPoint and the loggers.
  • Try to avoid mounting the AccessPoint on thick wooden beams.
  • Try to avoid metal walls or surfaces between the AccessPoint and the loggers. Also, modern windowpanes with a sunscreen protection (a thin metal film) obstruct wireless signals significantly.

- Equipment does not respond to ping requests.
- MAC address is determined as follows: 00:21: + first 8 characters of the serial number of the AccessPoint (e.g. SN:5B:00:12:34:56 = MAC Address 00:21:5B:00:12:34)
- IP Reservation by MAC Address is allowed.
- Static IP configuration is available:

2 - Configure the network adapter for:
IP: 192.168.0.10
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:192.168.0.254
3 - Using a web browser, access the equipment configuration page through                     http://192.168.0.50/config.htm and fill in the customized configuration.

Firewall Details

AccessPoint need network firewall permissions for the endpoint: a.sa1.nl port 80
Port 80 should be opened for outgoing traffic in order to allow the AccessPoint to communicate. A standard NAT firewall will support.
