Installing an O2 sensor in an IV incubator is crucial for maintaining optimal environmental conditions necessary for embryo development. Oxygen levels play a significant role in the success of the incubation process. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the proper installation of an O2 sensor.
Preparation: Before beginning the installation process, ensure you have the necessary equipment and tools readily available. This includes the O2 sensor kit and any additional materials like zip ties, cut tool and double-side tape.
Equipment Access Hole for external probes: Make sure there is an access hole to insert the probe. The remote probe is 36mm in diameter.
Power Off: Prior to installation, power off the IVF incubator and unplug it from the power source to prevent any electrical hazards.
Access Hole Removal: Locate the access hole on the incubator that provides access to the internal compartment. Usually Incubators have rubber stoppers to keep the equipment insulated. It may be necessary to make a cut to pass on the rubber stopper to allow the remote probe cable pass through (side rubber cut only for the diameter of the cable that slightly presses the cable when reinstalling the rubber stopper again).
Remote Probe Placement: Position the O2 sensor inside the incubator at the chosen location. Ensure that the sensor is securely mounted and positioned in a way that allows for accurate readings of oxygen levels within the incubator environment. The recommended orientation of the sensor probe is vertical with the sensor tip pointing downwards. This prevents the possible accumulation of condensed water on the sensor protection filter.
Central Unit and AiroSensor X ER 202043 Placement: Central Unit can be mounted using double-side tape. Please avoid any place where there is a possibility of magnetic fields. AiroSensor X ER (202043) should be mounted according to AiroSensor X ER (202043) Installation Guide.
Cable Connection: Connect the cables from the remote probe to the designated port from the central unit. The central unit should be also connected to AiroSensor X ER (202043) using the 4-20mA External Module.
Secure Installation: Once the sensor is properly positioned and connected, secure any loose cables to prevent interference with incubator operations. Ensure that the sensor is firmly in place and does not obstruct any moving parts or access to other components within the incubator.
Power On and Testing: After completing the installation, power on the IVF incubator as well as the O2 Sensor, let them stabilIze for 2 hours and monitor the O2 sensor readings using ViGIE Web Portal to ensure proper functionality.
By following these installation guidelines, you can effectively install an O2 sensor in an IVF incubator, providing accurate monitoring of oxygen levels critical for successful embryo development.
